Hello all.....
Running into alot of confusion on this, and was hoping for a few opinions.
Ive got a 95 GSR with the JRSC @ 11lbs, all the bolt ons, and a small shot of dry manifold juice used only at the track in 3rd and 4th.
Lost my rings in 3 and 4. (Knew it was going to happen one day) Now it's time for a complete rebuild.
Two Questions:
Headwork..... Anyone had dealings w/ JG? They seem a little egotistical when I call. How was the quality of work... and more paticularly their service? Was their a noticeable improvement in throttle response?
Anyone else I should consider?
Bottom end..... Looking at Crowers stroker kit... JG is apparently coming out with one as well. If not it'll be just a bore (Ha Ha). Any luck with piston rod combo's? Any advice? The bottom end I am attempting to rebuild myself, oh boy.
Your advice/opinions is appreciated.

Well the answer to ypur first question would be just stay away from JG..they dont do good work for the average Joe...if you are not a big time racer you will not get a good product from them...go with someone like BRE...they can handle all your work.....port/polish and motor rebuild...the answer to youe second question would be dont do the stroker kit....the rod ratios suck after that...the motor wont survive...instead of buying the stroker kit...spend the money on sleeving/pinning and get the bottom end built with a JE/Crower setup....and unless you are really experienced with motor building I would have someone else build it for you....such as BRE

I did the rebuild myself I resleeved and pinned the block which I would recommend. I'm using the tried and tested JE\Crower combo. When spending all that money when not go with something that work for so many people. As for my head I had John Brown from Braman Honda do it for me.

i dont recommend BRE at all my firend did his LS vtec had their supposedly "bulletproof" sleeves slip about 5 millimeters down the stock bore... and basically ruin a motor with less than 20 miles on in. i just hope they take responseability for their work. ive beenr unning a benson block for 2 years with no problems

That is the first "Bad" thing that I have ever heard about Benson's... everyone speaks very highly about their work. I have had a few motors prepped by them, and the work looks to be top-notch.

I think he was saying that BRE made the mistake Jim, not Benson's.
Sleeving is an invloved process. You have to chill the iron sleeves and heat the bare aluminum bores to slip the sleeve in. If not done just right, they can slide down and contact the crank (ouch).
